UCL: Why Man Utd lost to RB Leipzig

Manchester United were in action last night as they battled to score a point against German club, RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions Legaue.

The Red Devils however lost the match in Germany as they unable to equalize the scoreline set by the German side.

RB Leipzig had the early lead with 3-0 lead scoreline thanks to goals from Angelino, Amadou Haidara and Justin Kluivert.

Man Utd Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty and Paul Pogba, making it two goals but it was not enough to secure their spot in the next round of the UCL.

The Red Devils will now move into the Europa League round of 32.

Man Utd coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reacted to his side’s defeat in Germany last night as he said they started too late.

Solskjaer told BT Sport: “We started too late. Great spirit and comeback again.

“It’s different to the Premier League, you can’t give a team a three-goal lead and expect to come back.”

The Red Devils coach noted that his side were unlucky towards the end.

“Of course, you can’t say we were good enough, we weren’t. In a difficult group of course, the big defeat for us was the one away to Istanbul – that’s where we lost the points we should have had,” he added.

The Red Devils will be facing another tough challenge this weekend when face Man City in the Premier League.
