Champions League: Arsenal, Real Madrid shine, other results

The UEFA Champions League returned this week with some interesting matches.

On Tuesday night, Spanish side Real Madrid played German side Borussia Dortmund while Arsenal faced Donetsk.

The Los Blancos made headlines as they made another sensational comeback in, coming from two goals down to defeat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 at the Bernabeu Santiago.

The match started with the German side stunning the home crowd with goals from Donyell Malen and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

However, Vinicius Junior came through for the Los Blancos as he struck a second-half hat-trick as the holders took all three points.

While Real Madrid emerged winners in Spain, at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli forced an own goal in the first half, as they edged Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0.

PSV held French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 draw.

In other fixtures, AC Milan defeated Club Brugge 3-1, Aston Villa saw off Bologna 2-0, Stuttgart stunned Juventus 1-0 in Turin and Sporting Lisbon won 2-0 at Sturm Graz.

The Champions League match will continue on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid’s performance against Dortmund have once against placed them as the favourite to win the Champions League title this season.

The Los Blancos have maintained a top form in the European league for years.
