Chelsea are actively working to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s move for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus.

The Blues have opened negotiations with West Ham in hopes of striking a deal for the highly-rated attacker, with reports detailing the offers submitted so far and the valuation set by the Hammers.

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in August 2023 for £38 million, had previously attracted interest from Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion. During his time in the Netherlands, he netted 27 goals in 87 appearances, catching the attention of several Premier League clubs.

Since his arrival in England, Kudus has showcased his versatility, playing both as a winger and an attacking midfielder. He has recorded 19 goals and 13 assists in 80 appearances for West Ham, underlining his attacking threat. Despite facing some criticism during the previous season, the Ghanaian international is still regarded as one of the league’s most promising talents, with many believing he has the ability to excel at the highest level in European football.

West Ham now face the possibility of securing a significant profit on Kudus, as interest from top Premier League sides grows. Tottenham made the first move with a £50 million bid, which West Ham rejected. Spurs returned with an improved £55 million offer, but negotiations remain open.

Chelsea are prepared to compete aggressively and could soon present their own proposal, setting the stage for a fierce transfer battle between the London rivals.
