EPL: Arsenal miss great opportunity to leap forward after draw vs Liverpool

Arsenal returned to action on Thursday night when they faced Premier League champions Liverpool at Emirates Stadium in a game that could have boosted their chances of winning the title immensely.

The North London side had head to the  game with a five-point lead, after Manchester City and Aston Villa both dropped points on Wednesday.

Recall that Pep Guardiola’s side were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Brighton, while Villa played finished in a goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

The match against the Reds was an opportunity for the Gunners to leap forward but they failed to make utilise it to the fullest.

This comes as the North London side also dropped points against manager Arne Slot’s side.

Despite starting the game well and dominating, the Gunners did not score any goals and spent the second half containing Liverpool.

Following the outcome of the match, the Gunners and the Red split points as Arsenal are now six points ahead of Manchester City, who are the second spot on the table.

Meanwhile, the Gunners still have a chance of ending the season with the Premier League title if they maintain their form.
