Chelsea defender and Brazil star Thiago Silva couldn’t hold back the tears as Manchester City defeated the Blues in the FA Cup semi final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.

The defender’s emotional reaction to defeat stirred up different speculations about Chelsea fans online.

However, popular football expert, Fabrizio Romano in a comment hinted at the reason for the player’s display of emotion.

According to Romano, it could be owing to the fact that he has missed out on playing his last final in Europe.

Recall that Manchester City following their win against Chelsea earned their place in the FA Cup final, where they will face the winner between Man Utd and Coventry.

Silva is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and would likely return to South America where he could join a club in the Brazil local league.

“Thiago and Chelsea will discuss his future soon, he could leave the club at the end of the season — as current deal expires in June.”
