One of the big games to look out for this weekend in the Premier League is the match between Manchester City and Chelsea at Etihad Stadium.

The Blues and Citizens will be hoping to outdo each other to secure three points to push them further on the league table.

Ahead do the match, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca in a pre-match statement on Friday spoke on Cole Palmer’s availability to face his former club.

Recall that Palmer was a doubt to face Wolves on Monday due to an ankle knock but he was able to complete 84 minutes.

Ahead of Palmer’s return to Man City for who he made 41 first-team appearances after coming through their academy, Maresca confirmed the England international is fit to face play at Etihad Stadium.

“He is better,’ said the Chelsea manager. ‘He did an unbelievable effort to play against Wolves and he is getting better.”

Meanwhile, Man City are at the fifth in the Premier League table, two points below Chelsea at fourth spot.

The Citizens head to the match after they suffered a 4-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

After one win and six defeats in nine Premier League games in November and December, Man City have remained unbeaten in five matches in the competition, winning three of them.

While the Citizens’ performance has been below their expectations this season, Maresca knows how impressive they can be having worked with Pep Guardiola on two separate occasions.
