Chelsea Vs Man City: Maresca drops update on Colwill, Fernandez and Lavia

Chelsea will return to action this weekend in the Premier League when they play Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

Ahead of the face off, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has dropped an update about Levi Colwill and Enzo Fernandez.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Maresca disclosed that Colwill and Fernandez ‘could be ready’ to face Manchester City on Saturday.

The manager, however, added that Romeo Lavia will miss the Premier League clash against his former club.

Recall that the trio were missing in action on Monday when the Blues defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca in a post-match statement confirmed that Colwill and Fernandez’s issues were minor but that further assessment was needed on Lavia.

Meanwhile, the Blues boss has now confirmed that Lavia will be sidelined for ‘a few weeks more’.

“Probably Levi and Enzo could be ready [to feature against Man City],’ he told reporters. ’It depends on today’s session,” Maresca added.

The Blues will hope to maintain their top form against the Citizens as they will be looking out to secure three points against Pep Guardiola’s side that have not been all that spectacular this season.
