Chelsea told to sign this two players
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has sent a message to Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window as he advised them on two players to sign.
The Blues resurgence in the Premier League isn’t enough to bridge the gap to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Despite an upturn in performance, the west London side are in seventh place in the Premier League, a considerable distance from getting a Champions League spots.
They are trailing toppers Arsenal by 29 points, which they can’t meet up with.
While Chelsea appear to be regaining their form, Merson, however, believe their resurgence isn’t enough to bridge the gap to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
He stressed the need for the Blues to get reinforcement in the summer transfer market, pinpointing two important positions.
Merson in a statement with Sky Sports said the Blues have to bring in experience in the summer especially with defender Thiago Silva, their main experienced player leaving at the end of the season.
He also pointed out they Blues need an experienced centre-half to take Silva’s place, and they could do with another centre-forward to score goals ahead of next season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will return to action next weekend when they play Nottingham Forest in the EPL.
