Why Kai Havertz may be another De Bruyne or Mo Salah who needs more time
Chelsea made one of the biggest signings in the summer transfer window which saw them end up with Kai Havertz who they signed from the German side, Bayern Leverkusen.
However, the heavy transfer fee they made for the signing of Havertz has not paid off so far this season as he only has one goal and two assists to his name in 16 premier league appearances, which is not impressive to say the least
Aside from that, the Blues are seated outside the top four on the EPL table and their recent poor performances have placed pressure on Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
However, in a recent statement, Lampard has revealed that he is not worried about Havertz slow start.
The English coach in a statement via Metro UK is of the opinion that the 21-year-old Havertz needs more time to get better.
Lampard went on to list the duo Man City player, Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool player, Mohammed Salah as example of two players who at Havertz’s age struggled to perform but they went away, took time and came back strong to become legends in the Premier League today.
The Chelsea coach believes the same applies with Havertz who he said he doesn’t want to pressurise while urging for more time.
“It’s not that everything will just happen in a few months or in one performance,” Lampard said.
