Ivisionsport can confirm that Chelsea have sacked Frank Lampard as the manager at Stamford Bridge.

This was made public in an official statement by the club via it website as it disclosed that it was a difficult decision to make.

While Chelsea may have defeated Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday, it looked like it was not enough to save Lampard’s job.

According to the club, the recent results and performances achieved under the English coach didn’t meet the Club’s expectations, as the Blues are no longer in the top four.

Also another angle to look at is the expensive transfer deals that took place in the summer, which is yet to pay off.

The club hierarchy also revealed that there is no clear path to sustained improvement, which was why they had to let Lampard go.

“There can never be a good time to part ways with a club legend such as Frank, but after lengthy deliberation and consideration it was decided a change is needed now to give the Club time to improve performances and results this season,” Chelsea said via it official website.

However, the Club didn’t make any comment about who the new head coach will be, however, reports have revealed that former Paris Saint Germain PSG coach, Thomas Tuchel will take up the job.

Why Kai Havertz may be another De Bruyne or Mo Salah who needs more time

The Blues will make an announcement on an interim coach or permanent one before their next match vs. the Wolves on Wednesday.
