Why it would be a surprise for Chelsea target to join Liverpool

Napoli star Victor Osimhen has been repeatedly linked with moves from the Italian club with Liverpool among the popular clubs interested in him.

However, popular transfer expert Neil Jones has said it would come as a surprise to him if Osimhen signed for the Reds.

Jones in his column for Caughtoffside stressed that it would be amazing to see Osimhen move to Anfield this summer because of the many attacking players in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Aside from Liverpool, Osimhen, who impressed for Napoli last season has caught the attention of the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

“While I don’t like to dismiss stories or talk down what other journalists might be hearing from their sources, I have to say I would be amazed to see Liverpool sign Victor Osimhen, as has been reported elsewhere, or any other striker of that calibre or asking price, for that matter,” Jones said.

Osimhen is reportedly worth £150m and it unlike Liverpool will be willing to splash such an amount this summer.
