Chelsea are set to bring in a new goalkeeper following Senegal star Edouard Mendy’s departure from the club.

The Blues are said to have identified Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin as a worthy replacement for Mendy, who was once their number one man at the goalpost.

This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who said the west London side ‘appreciates’ Trubin as they seek cover for Kepa Arrizabalaga after Mendy completed his transfer from Stamford Bridge to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli a few days ago.

Mendy’s departure to Saudi means the Blues now need some extra depth and quality in their goalkeeping department to create competition for Kepa.

The reports revealed Trubin’s name is among the goalkeeper that interest the Blues as they eye signing a new goalkeeper for their manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Trubin is a 21-year-old Ukrainian keeper and could soon be a goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
