Chelsea returned to action on Wednesday night when they played Brighton in the Premier League.

The Blues maintained their impressive form as they won all three points against Brighton.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has, however, expressed his displeasure at Reece James’ red card during the match.

Recall that James was sent off the pitch after kicking out at Joao Pedro.

The England defender was handed a red card after a VAR check with just two minutes of normal time left.

This means James will be better unavailable for Chelsea in for four games due to it being his second offence.

Pochettino in a reaction said James might have been frustrated to have pulled the move on Pedro.

The Argentine said James getting a red card was painful because it was a fantastic night of football for Chelsea and he’s their captain and a really important player.

Pochettino said he was disappointed because James would miss the Blues next game and maybe a few games next season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s 2-1 win against the Sea Gulls have seen them move to the sixth spot on the league table, meaning now stand a chance of playing in European tournaments next season.
