Chelsea keen on selling Romelu Lukaku in the forthcoming summer transfer window and have made effort to secure a deal for the Belgian striker.

This comes as the reports revealed that the Blues have announced a new transfer price for Lukaku.

Recall that the Blues signed the Belgian forward for £97.5m in 2021, with the hope that he would impress at the front.

Instead, Lukaku struggled under former manager Thomas Tuchel and was loaned back to Inter Milan and fellow Italian side Roma, after being unable to attract suitable permanent offers.

The Blues have still been able to benefit from receiving a substantial loan fee each time, as well as the bulk or entirety of Lukaku’s wages being paid in full by Inter and Roma.

Chelsea, are, however, keen on cashing in on the 31-year-old as soon as possible, preferably before June 30 given the need to meet the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations.

While the Blues had put Lukaku’s target fee at £38 million last summer, a recent report via Football Insider revealed the club co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have reached the decision to accept an offer of £35m from interested clubs willing to sign him this summer.
