Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has told manager Thomas Tuchel what to do to get the best out of him.

Lukaku told the Blues boss to use the same method used by former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte.

The Belgian striker was together with Conte in San Siro, where they helped Inter Milan to win the Seria A last season.

However, while Lukaku left Inter Milan in the summer to join Chelsea, Conte went on to take up a coaching job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Lukaku, during a statement with ESPN Brazil, outlined how the experience at Inter Milan with Conte “added qualities to my game.”

The Belgium international scored more than 30 goals per season in his two seasons under Conte in the Italian Seria A.

But since rejoining Chelsea, Lukaku has scored only six goals with two assists in 17 matches for the Blues.

“Me and the coach, we had a couple of conversations about whatever he wanted from me.

Obviously I told him I’m multidimensional. It’s just about having a bit of clarity about how he wants to use me. And then whatever he wants from me, I can do whatever aspects he wants for the game.

“I can run in behind, I can press, I can hold the ball up. So I think throughout the years these are qualities I added to my game.

“So I just wanted an opportunity, I got it today, I’m happy that I helped the team, now I just want to move forward,” Lukaku said.
