John Terry confirms return to Chelsea

Former Chelsea captain and England football star John Terry has confirmed his return to Stamford Bridge.

Terry expressed his excitement on his  “coming home”, as he takes up a part-time consultancy role at the Blues’ academy.

This is coming after Terry had spent three years as an assistant coach at Aston Villa.

The 41-year-old was one of Chelsea most illustrious players. During his 19-year stint with the Blues, Terry made 717 senior appearances and won 15 major trophies, including five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the Champions League.

“I’m delighted to announce that I’m coming home and have taken up a consultancy role @ChelseaFC academy.

“As well as delivering on-field coaching sessions, I will be involved in coaching discussions and mentoring our academy players,” Terry wrote on Twitter.

According to a statement via Chelsea’s official website, Terry is expected to “work with our young players and coaching staff in our youth development programme, sharing the vast experience gained from his 20-year playing career and recent spell as an assistant coach at Aston Villa.”
