Former Chelsea star and Belgium international Eden Hazard has advised 19-year-old Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia on his possible move to Stamford Bridge.

This comes as the Blues are ready to make another move for Lavia, as well as Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, after missing out on defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte to Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly sanction a £50million bid for Lavia at the end of last summer but the deal didn’t materialize as Southampton turned it down as they had only signed him from Manchester City less than two months before.

However, Lavia is said to be up for sale following Southampton’s relegation from Premier League this season,

A report via Express revealed Southampton want at least £45million for Lavia while Chelsea’s director of recruitment Joe Shields, who signed the Belgium International for Southampton, is said to be behind the move.

Hazard, who is Chelsea’s former winger, also spoke to his fellow Belgian about his time at the West London side.

The former Real Madrid star has ‘actively encouraged’ Lavia to move to Chelsea if the opportunity arises.
