Arsenal are considering making a new addition to their squad before the close of the summer transfer window as a recent report via Sky Sports linked them with moves for Piero Hincapie.

According to the reports, the Gunners are considering a deal for Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.

While the North London side are working on ensuring some unwanted players leave this summer, they are also on the move to sign a new player on the left-sided centre-back.

Hincapie’s transfer to Emirate Stadium may, however, be difficult for the Gunners to pull off as he currently has four years left on his Bayer Leverkusen deal.

While the German side are not under pressure to sell him this summer, the defender has decided on his future in the German league.

Hincapie disclosed he wants to continue his career elsewhere. He, however, has a £52m (€60m) release clause in his contract.

Arsenal might be able to meet Hincapie’s release clause if they able to offload Jakub Kiwior.
