Former Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has hailed the club’s January signing and Argentina international Enzo Fernandez.

According to Crespo, Fernandez is a combination of the Chelsea legends, Frank Lampard and Claude Makalele, as he stressed that the midfielder is a very good guy.

Recall that Fernandez moved to Chelsea from Benfica in a British record transfer of £105million.

“He [Enzo Fernadez] made me happy in December so, so much with [winning] the [2022 FIFA] World Cup,” Crespo was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

“Now it’s the second happiness he has given me in a short time because he joined Chelsea. I am very happy, very proud of him because he’s a very, very good guy.”

He added, “He [Fernandez] is [Claude] Makalele plus [Frank] Lampard. “If you need him in the Makalele position, he can play very well.

“This guy can also smell the goal, a good shot from outside the box, so if you need him behind the striker, Lampard or [Michael] Essien, he can do it.”
