Former Barca player gets promotion to Chelsea first team
Luck has shined on former Barcelona youngster, Xavier Mbuyamba as he gets a promotion to Chelsea first team.
This comes after the Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel finally promoted him to first team training this week.
An excited Mbuyamba has expressed his excitement over the new opportunity as we revealed that he is ‘truly blessed.’
Recall that Dutch played moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer during the reign of former manager, Frank Lampard.
The report revealed that Lampard had also planned to promote Mbuyamba into his first-team but it was placed on hold after the defender suffered a serious injury shortly after arriving at the West London side and was sidelined for most of the 2020-21 season.
He finally made his debut for the Blues development side last April as a late substitute, scoring in a 3-1 win over Southampton U23.
“A moment I’ve been working towards since joining this incredible club,” the 19-year-old defender wrote on Instagram.
He added that it was indeed a blessing to be training with the first team this week.
Hopefully, he would make a debut appearance for the senior team soon.
