Liverpool has reportedly set a €75m (£63.8m) asking price for Luis Diaz amid interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has since made 98 appearances, scoring 24 goals and providing 13 assists.

Speculation surrounds Diaz’s future, with several clubs reportedly interested in his services. Barcelona and PSG are believed to be among those keen on signing the Colombia international.

PSG is particularly in need of a replacement for Kylian Mbappe and has the financial capability to meet Liverpool’s valuation.

According to AS, Liverpool has made it clear that Diaz will not leave Anfield for less than €75m (£63.8m). Barcelona, despite identifying Diaz as a primary target, may struggle to meet this price due to financial constraints.

Last month, Diaz expressed his contentment at Liverpool, stating he was “very happy” at the club. “I have grown a lot. From the beginning of my career to today, I feel that with the passage of days, of years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with a lot of learnings,” Diaz said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

He added, “You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy. The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I do not doubt that. I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100%, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity.”

During the 2023-24 season, Diaz was a crucial player for Liverpool, making 51 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists. In the Premier League, he scored eight goals and registered five assists in 37 matches, while also netting three times in seven Europa League outings.

Liverpool is expected to undergo squad changes this summer under new head coach Arne Slot, who has replaced Jurgen Klopp at the helm of the 19-time English champions.
