Former Chelsea player, Willian, who is now at Arsenal in a latest statement has revealed he never wanted to leave Stamford Bridge.

Wilkins made this known in a statement ahead of Arsenal game vs. Leicester City in the premier league.

The Brazilian star didn’t want to leave Chelsea owing to the contract clash that could arise and the rivalry between the Gunnars and the Blues.

He however went on to sign for Arsenal on a free transfer last summer transfer window

“It was difficult to make that decision,” Willian told UOL Esporte.

“Because the rivalry between the two clubs is very big, it was well thought out talking to my wife and even the agent many times.”

He stressed that everyone at Stamford Bridge knew he wanted to stay.

Willian revealed he ended up not finding an agreement at Chelsea as he wanted three years extension but the Blues wanted to give two, and so he ended up leaving.

The Brazil star during his stay at Chelsea played for 339 times and won two Premier League titles and a Europa League title during his seven years stay at the West London club.

However, so far in his stay at Arsenal, he has registered just four assists in 26 appearances.
