We are progressing but still have a long way to go – Chelsea player
Former Man City and now Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has shared his take on the Blues performance so far.
Chelsea moved to the 8th spot after their narrow win over Fulham over the weekend.
The victory over Fulham means Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino has won three matches in a row.
However, Sterling blieves the improvement in Chelsea’s league form in recent weeks is a sign of the progress being made.
But he stressed that the club still has a long way to go before they hit the high standards they are aiming for.
‘It’s always been a work in progress, nothing was going to be overnight,’ Sterling continued. ‘We have a gaffer here who’s setting principles, discipline within the group. There’s certain little things, like today getting another three points.
‘It can look nervy at times but the more you win the more confidence the group has, the more the fans are behind you and you can relax and see the football come out a bit better.
‘That’s what it takes, we just need to keep winning, keep building that momentum and little by little you can see the improvement.
‘That’s what we know the fans deserve and that’s what we need to keep doing, keep building on these things and keep trying to win. We know what we need to do, keep working and keep winning games. That’s what’s expected at a football club like Chelsea.
‘It’s another step in the right direction and another three points that we can build on. We’ve got the fans behind us here and that gives us the belief.’
