Premier League side Manchester United are reportedly plotting a late bid to sign David Alaba from Bayern Munich but not without facing competition from top European teams

David Alaba will be a free agent when the season ends and his ability to play at centre-back or left-back as well as in the middle of midfield.

The Austria international has shown no indication of signing a new contract, and appears set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Top teams like Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG have all been rumoured to be eyeing Alaba and Manchester United have also joined them in the race.

According to German outlet SportBILD, United and Manchester City are both eager to enter into the running for Alaba in January despite the other teams interested.

United are believed to be eager to sign a new centre-back in the summer transfer window, and are also interested in Dayot Upamecano whom have been in a great form for RB Leipzig.
