Chelsea’s pursuit of Declan Rice does not look like one that will be stopping anytime soon as the London club set out a long-term plan for the young midfielder.

Declan Rice has become the most sort after player in the Premier League as top clubs are eager to add him to their squad due to the skills he possesses.

The 21-year-old came through Chelsea’s academy system but was let go before he was given a chance at West Ham where he has become their most priced asset as well as a regular with England national team.

According to The Sun, Chelsea remains undeterred in their efforts to sign the player as they are ready to make a fresh bid this January provided that the first-team squad is reduced in January.

The report noted that Frank Lampard has seen the defensive-minded star as a long-term fixture in the middle of his defence.

With Lampard going through a tough time, he’s eager to add someone of Rice abilities to his teams as he wants to compete with the top teams in all front.

However, with the Blues recent defeat to Man City over the weekend, there are indications that the Blues could sack  Lampard suit and this may affect the pursuit for Rice.
