Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has further stirred up rumours about a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

This comes as Amorim refused to rule out the claims that he has held talks over replacing Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager.

Recall that Amorim was in the news in recent weeks, when he was linked with the managerial jobs at three Premier League clubs.

The 39-year-old manager was said to be a target for Liverpool, before Feyenoord’s Arne Slot emerged as the frontrunner to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Amorim was also named as a replacement for West Ham manager David Moyes, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Following his trip to London to reportedly hold talks with the Hammers, Amorim tendered a public apology to Sporting fans for making the trip with the club close to winning the Primeira Liga title.

However, recent reports suggested that Chelsea, rather than West Ham, paid for Amorim to trip London where he held talks with Chelsea.

While Chelsea have since denied claims they held discussions with Amorim over the possibilities of replacing him with Pochettino, the Sporting boss has refused to rule out the idea that he spoke with Chelsea.

He, however, chose not to disclose the reason behind his trip to London.
