Out-of-favour Arsenal forward finally reveals his future with the club board
Arsenal are willing to let go of Brazilian forward Willian this summer and the former Chelsea playmaker is also ready to leave the club and join Corinthians, according to reports in Brazil.
Willian arrived at Arsenal from Chelsea last summer on a free transfer but the Brazilian has failed to impress at the London club.
The pacy winger gave a glimpse of what he has to offer in the early days of his Arsenal career but things took a new turn as Mikel Arteta team struggled.
With Willian one of Arsenal’s top earners as he was handed a three-year deal worth £220,000 a week, the board are eager to offload the winger before Tuesday’s deadline.
It now looks like the move will be sorted out before the transfer window closes.
According to Goal Brazil, Willian has accepted the prospect of moving back to Corinthians and has informed Arsenal’s hierarchy about his decision.
Corinthians are willing to sign the Brazilian but the report added that his salary might be a huge problem in the deal to be sealed.
It is reported that Willian earn more than Corinthians are paying their players and the star forward and his agent are trying to convince Arsenal to allow his return to Corinthians and fund part of his wages.
