Mourinho speaks after joining AS Roma

Recall that the Italian club, AS Roma on Tuesday confirmed Portugal international, Jose Mourinho has their new coach.

The club took to its official Twitter handle to drop the announcement.

Following the report, Mourinho has reacted to his new appointment which is coming shortly after he was sacked at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho in his statement said the incredible passion of Roma fans convinced him to take the job.

The Portuguese agreed to a three-year contract with Roma on Tuesday. This means he would remain at Roma until the 2024 season.

The 58-year-old coach will assume the position ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Speaking after signing the contract, Mourinho told the club’s website, “Thank you to the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and to be part of their vision.

It’s the same ambition and drive that has always motivated me and together, we want to build a winning project over the upcoming years.

The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I can’t wait to start next season.”

Mourinho has coached some of the best clubs in Europe which include Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur. His experience will help Roma improve in the Italian League.
