Premier League defending champion, Manchester City failed to bag a point in their first league match with Tottenham Hotspur taking all three point.

Tottenham Hotspur who were without their star forward, Harry Kane, put in an impressive performance to outshine Pep Guardiola’s team.

Despite fielding the most expensive side in English football history, with their starting eleven costing £550m, City failed to convince football lovers with their performance.

Their flaws have now been revealed by their former player, Micah Richards who was pitchside for the game.

Speaking to Sky Sport, Richard stated that City were not good enough, especially by their own standards.

He noted that everyone know how well they did last season but today they just did not get going.

Richard insisted that there are no excuses today as City were beaten by the better team.

Speaking about City’s flaws, Graeme Souness stated that he think City’s problems are that they need a goalscorer.

Last season, their top goalscorer was Gundogan then it was Sterling, they scored 19 goals fewer last season than the season before.

Souness noted that the talk of bidding £100m for Harry Kane, they are not doing it for no good reason. They need a proper centre forward that is going to score 20-25 goals a season and he think they got away with it last year.
