The latest reports have claimed that Man Utd interim coach Ralf Rangnick wants to sign Chelsea striker and Germany international Timo Werner to Old Trafford.

The reports revealed that Rangnick, who was signed a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked last month, has told the United board he wants Werner.

Rangnick managed Werner when he was at German club RB Leipzig, and the Blues striker understands Rangnick’s high-press philosophy better.

This is because Werner has been struggling to perform at Stamford Bridge since moving to the club for a fee of £54m in 2020 and has scored only seven Premier League goals in 43 appearances.

Rangnick, therefore, wants to seek a move for the striker and will discuss it with his board, according to Sport Bild

However, any move for the striker will have to wait until next summer.

It is however uncertain that Chelsea would allow Werner move to Old Trafford as they will prefer to sell him off to another league.

Rangnick is expected to resume fully at Man Utd in the middle of December.
