Liverpool could sign this center back worth £27 million from Ajax

Liverpool may be topping the EPL table this season again but the team is currently battling with injuries which could affect their chances of lifting the title this season.

The Reds are going to be without two of their key players at the back, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk owning to long term injuries.

This has forced Jurgen Klopp to make use of Fabinho at the back and he could continue to play this role for the rest of the season till Dijk and Gomez are back.

Another option the Reds have is to sign a new center back defender in the January transfer window to at least stand in for the injured defenders.

A report has linked Liverpool with moves to sign Ajax defender Perr Schuurs in January.

According to the reports, the 21-year-old Dutchman Schuurs is valued at around £27 million by Ajax, an amount the Reds would be willing to part with.

Liverpool will go head to head against Ajax in the Champions League tonight, which is  the perfect opportunity for Klopp to assess Schuurs in action as he considers the possibility of a move for the centre-back.

Schuurs enjoys enough playing chances in the Ajax back-line and has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.

It is uncertain if he would be willing to move to Anfield as his playing chances will likely reduce once Dijk and Gomez return to the team hopefully at the end of the season.
