John Terry linked with new coaching job
Chelsea legend and former England international, John Terry could be on his way to land a new deal that could see him take up a serious club management job.
Terry, who is currently Aston Villa assistant coach has been linked with a new job at Derby County, where he would be the head coach.
Sky Sports News also confirmed newspaper reports linking Terry to the Derby job, which the current Aston Villa assistant coach sees as an excellent first opportunity in management.
Terry has always been outspoken about his desire to take up a top coaching job and has been impressed by what his former Stamford Bridge teammate, Frank Lampard, achieved in his first step into management at Derby.
The former Chelsea captain will be hoping to land the offer that would change his coaching career and could also serve as a stepping stone to coaching a bigger club like Chelsea in future.
However, aside from Terry, former Man Utd star and England international, Wayne Rooney is another favourite to land the job.
Rooney is currently in charge at Derby in interim and is also keen on taking the job full time.
Derby County is about to get a new management as Sheikh Khaled’s Derventio Holdings is going through the final legal stages of buying out current owner Mel Morris, who is also assisting with the pursuit of a new manager alongside senior members of Sheikh Khaled’s executive team.
A new coach is expected to be announced after buyout is complete.
