Jurgen Klopp excited to work with young defender, labels him a good guy

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed how excited he is to have finally started work with the club’s latest addition, Ibrahima Konate.

The reds suffered in the defence last season with the likes of Gomez, Van Dijk and Mario failing to stay fit for the majority of the season.

Liverpool showed how determined they are for next season by signing Konate from RB Leipzig in the early days of this summer transfer window.

The young centre-back has now reunited with his teammates as Liverpool begin preseason in Austria.

Klopp, while speaking with the official club site, said about his excitement at meeting Konate for the first time in person and getting to work with him

The German tactician stated that Konate is a good guy, and he is really happy to be in Liverpool.

Klopp noted that he’s delighted to have him around as he’s a young boy still, unbelievably young, but experienced already.

According to Klopp, Konate played some excellent stuff in the past and hopefully even better things in the future.

The Liverpool manager added that for Konate, it’s now the first pre-season with Liverpool as well, they don’t know a lot about the player; that’s always how it is with new players.

Klopp insisted that the coaching crew try to be careful as well, try to be in constant conversations with him about how he feels and these kinds of things, adding that it’s an entirely normal process, and it’s perfect to have him in the team.
