Manchester United have intensified their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon duo Goncalo Inacio and Morten Hjulmand, with the club determined to secure their signatures this summer.

The Red Devils are targeting reinforcements in central defense, midfield, and attack.

According to A Bola, Manchester United are prepared to advance on deals for both Inacio and Hjulmand, who are viewed as key targets by the club.

The combined cost of these transfers could reach £118.4m, necessitating significant sales to fund the acquisitions.

Inacio, with a release clause of around £50.7m, has impressed at Sporting Lisbon, making 171 appearances and contributing 15 goals and nine assists from central defense.

He was instrumental during the 2023-24 season, recording four goals and one assist in 49 matches.

Manchester United are in need of at least one new centre-back following Raphael Varane’s departure on a free transfer.

With potential exits for Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans yet to sign a new contract, the club might require two central defenders, making Inacio a primary focus.

Hjulmand, with a buy-out fee of £67.7m, has shone for Denmark at Euro 2024, starting both matches and scoring a long-range goal in the 1-1 draw with England.

Scouts from Manchester United have been closely monitoring his performances. The midfielder was pivotal for Sporting last season, tallying five goals and four assists in 51 appearances.

Manchester United are also considering the futures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, while Donny van de Beek is set to leave permanently. Despite rumors, it is highly unlikely that club captain Bruno Fernandes will depart this summer.
