Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in a recent statement spoke about their summer signing Kai Havertz, who recently joined them from Chelsea.

Arteta revealed he is yet to decide the role Havertz will handle in his team next season.

Havetz got a nod to play during the Gunners 1-1 draw with German side Numberg in their first pre-season game in Germany and his performance was underwhelming.

Arteta seemed to have deployed Havertz in the advanced midfield role vacated by Granit Xhaka, who recently exited the club.

Last season with Chelsea, Havertz was deployed as a false nine but Arteta has admitted that the German role at Arsenal is yet to be determined.

When asked where he sees Havertz playing Arteta told reporters, “We will see. We have to see how he adapts and get to know each other and build relationships.

“Football is about that and time will tell where he sees best.”
