Former Chelsea manager sacked at AS Roma

Italian Serie A club AS Roma has parted ways with their new manager Jose Mourinho.

This comes as the club on Tuesday officially named Daniele De Rossi as the club’s new manager following Mourinho’s sack.

The Serie A club confirmed this in a statement issued via their X, formerly Twitter, account.

AS Roma had earlier dismissed Mourinho following a poor run of form with his squad this season in the Italian league.

“AS Roma is pleased to announce that Daniele De Rossi has been appointed as the new Technical Manager of the First Team until 30 June 2024,” Roma tweeted.

“Welcome home, Daniele!”

De Rossi was an AS Roma player before he retired from playing football.

Mourinho is now available for new jobs and could soon be linked with a return to Chelsea amid the club’s struggles under former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.
