FA Cup final: Tuchel backs Kepa to start vs. Leicester City
Chelsea will return to action on Saturday when they play Leicester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley stadium.
The Blues will be heading to the match following a defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League during their midweek game.
Ahead of the match, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has given an update on who will man the goal post for the Blues vs. the Foxes.
Tuchel revealed that Kepa Arrizabalaga will get the nod to start at the back on Saturday.
This is coming even though Kepa allowed a goal in during the game vs. Arsenal.
Recall that Eduordy Mendy replaced Kepa as the Blues’ first-choice following his move from Rennes last summer.
According to the German, Kepa ‘deserves’ to play having featured in all five of the club’s FA Cup matches so far this season.
”If you have a goalkeeper for this competition like we have had with Kepa, you don’t change in the final.
“He is part of the group and he brought us to the final so he deserves to play. Tomorrow is the next challenge for him,” Tuchel said on Friday afternoon.
Chelsea will hope to clinch the FA Cup to make it the first under Tuchel.
