Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign a physically imposing defender as part of their ongoing summer rebuild, following progress on deals for Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard.

According to multiple reliable sources, the Gunners are working swiftly to reinforce key areas of the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

After falling short in both the Premier League title race and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season, manager Mikel Arteta and new Sporting Director Andrea Berta are determined to add both quality and depth to the team.

A new striker remains the top priority, but defensive reinforcements are also high on the agenda.

While Arsenal have yet to officially unveil any new arrivals, moves are already in motion. Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard and Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga are expected to be announced soon.

As per Sky Sports, Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £10 million plus add-ons for Norgaard, bringing experienced Premier League steel to their midfield.

Meanwhile, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Kepa has completed his medical at London Colney. The former Chelsea goalkeeper will join Arsenal as a backup option after the Gunners triggered his £5 million release clause.

Now, attention turns to strengthening the backline. Though the name of the defender has yet to be publicly confirmed, sources describe him as a “physically imposing” presence—suggesting Arsenal are targeting a player who can add strength and composure at the back.

With several deals nearing completion, Arsenal are showing real intent early in the transfer window as they aim to return stronger and more competitive in the upcoming campaign.
