EPL: Chelsea injury update vs Man City

Chelsea on Saturday will challenge Man City for the first time this season in the Premier League, having defeated them three times last season under Thomas Tuchel as coach.

Ahead of the match, which is scheduled to be played at Stamford Bridge, the Blues manager has given his team injury update.

According to Tuchel in a pre-match statement, he revealed that Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are the only two players who are on the sideline owing to injuries.

Tuchel revealed Mount sustained a minor knock during the Blues Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa in midweek; the injury will keep him out of the Saturday lunchtime meeting with Man City.

”He has made a big step in his recovery from that, huge progress, but unfortunately not enough to be involved because of the game coming earlier on Saturday,” Tuchel said.

Recall that Pulisic has been out of the team since returning from the international break after sustaining an injury during international duty for the United States; he is, however, expected to rejoin the rest of the team soon.
