The Blues may be welcoming a new goalkeeper to their squad this summer as a new report claim they have reached an agreement with Chicago Fire for their Gabriel Slonina.

Chelsea have had eyes on the goalie for the past couple of months after he became the MLS side’s number one goalkeeper.

Aside from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the other clubs that have been linked with moves for  Slonina.

As of the 2021 MLS season, he made 11 appearances for the Fire. In 2022, he has kept 10 clean sheets in 23 appearances.

With his current deal set to expire in 2013, the 18-year-old may have to move elsewhere if his deal is not extended.

And according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have won the race for his services.

Romano hinted that Chelsea will pay a total of €15m (£12.3m) to secure a deal for him.

He is also scheduled to arrive in the English capital to complete his medical and finalise his move on Sunday but he wouldn’t join the Chelsea squad until January 2023.
