Arsenal have reportedly been linked with moves to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer.

The report via Goal claimed the Gunners have opened talks for Mount, who would be out of contract with Chelsea in 2024.

As of now, talks for Mount’s possible contract extension have stalled at Stamford Bridge as the 24-year-old is currently one of the lowest-paid senior players at the club and wants a salary similar to his England teammates.

Mount has previously turned down the offer of a new contract with the West London club, who are unwilling to meet his reported wage demands of around £250,000 per week.

Although the Blues are determined to keep Mount, they may be forced to sell him this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer next year.

Aside from Arsenal, top European clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Bayern Munich have all shown interest in signing Mount, who Gareth Southgate described as an ‘exceptional player.’
