Bayern Munich is reportedly making a strong push to secure the signing of a 21-year-old attacker who has garnered interest from both Arsenal and Barcelona this summer.

The Bavarian giants are determined to bounce back from a disappointing 2023-24 season, where they fell short of winning any silverware for the first time in 12 years. With a third-place finish in the Bundesliga and setbacks in other competitions, including the Champions League, DFB-Pokal, and DFL-Supercup, Bayern is eager for a resurgence under new head coach Vincent Kompany, who has already expressed his enthusiasm for the club.

Kompany, who recently signed a three-year deal with Bayern, is aiming to lead the team back to the top of German football, with several transfer targets already identified for the upcoming summer window.

Bayern’s director, Max Eberl, is reportedly spearheading the efforts to secure the signing of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Barcelona. Simons spent the previous season on loan at RB Leipzig, where he made a significant impact, catching the attention of Bayern’s leadership.

While PSG is not currently considering selling Simons, Bayern is exploring the possibility of bringing him to Bavaria on loan. Leipzig is also keen on re-signing the talented attacker, who still has three years left on his contract with PSG.

Simons’ demand stems from his impressive performances, particularly during the 2022-23 season at PSV Eindhoven, where he contributed significantly in terms of goals and assists. After being re-signed by PSG and loaned to Leipzig, Simons continued to excel, earning a place in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.

Despite his high regard at PSG, uncertainty remains regarding Simons’ future, prompting interest from other clubs, including former club Barcelona. The young talent’s preference for a return to La Masia adds an intriguing dimension to his potential transfer.
