Arsenal midfielder tipped to leave at end of season
Arsenal are reportedly set to let Thomas Partey leave the club at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old joined the Gunners from La Liga sides Atletico Madrid in October 2020 for £45m, playing 104 times in England since.
Partey’s game time this season has been severely restricted by a number of injury issues.
The last time he featured for Mikel Arteta’s squad was back in October.
Struggling with a long-term thigh injury, the Ghanaian has played just four Premier League matches this season, competing in only 251 minutes of top-flight football.
The Mirror reports that the North London side are willing to let Partey leave, despite his contract not expiring in the summer.
It was further claimed that the Gunners were frustrated with the midfielder’s injury woes, which has limited him from playing.
There were speculations that Arteta was ready to let Partey leave in the summer transfer window, with the Spaniard believing he had enough options in the engine room.
With no suitable offers on the table for Partey, Arsenal were forced to keep the 30-year-old at the club and for large parts of current term – in the medical room.
