One more slump and Ten Hag could be sacked at Man Utd
Manchester United’s underwhelming performance this season has put manager Erik ten Hag’s job on the line once again.
According to pundit Mark Lawrenson, a next slump under Ten Hag could spell the end for the manager.
Recall that Man Utd finished at the 8th spot on the league table last season but Ten Hag was able to keep his job after he led the Red Devils to victory against their rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup finals.
To support Ten Hag, Man Utd splashed more than £200 million on new signings in the summer transfer window but the efforts have failed to yield positive results.
So far this season, the Red Devils have seven points from their first five league games, drawing with Crystal Palace in their recent outing.
Their Europa League opener on Wednesday against Ten Hag’s former club FC Twente ended in a 1-1 draw despite their dominance in the match.
Speaking via Sports Casting, Lawrenson said he is still not convinced with Man United but thinks they’ll be better this season.
He, however, wasn’t sure if they will be good enough to appease their owners.
“I think if they have another slump, Ten Hag will get sacked. It seems like they’re waiting for that to happen,” he said.
