Barcelona rules out move for Neymar

Barcelona boss Quique Setien has recommended that his side are probably not going to have the option to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar throughout this present summer’s transfer window.

The 28-year-old keeps on being firmly connected with a return to Camp Nou, yet the funds included could make it unimaginable for the Catalan giants to make a deal this summer.

Setien has implied that a figure of €222m (£195m) would be expected to sign the Brazil international, who has scored multiple times in 80 appearances for the French bosses since a 2017 move from Barcelona.

“€222m (£195m) for him? No. I don’t think there is any individual who can spend that much,” Setien told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Also, little clubs have water in their throats. Huge numbers of them lived as far as possible and at the first serious shock they went into emergency. Football inhabited an uncontrolled pace.”

Neymar, who has also been connected with Real Madrid, has an contract with his Paris club until the end of the 2021-22 crusade.

Chelsea at one point tried to sign Neymar.
