Why the Blues are in a tough period under Frank Lampard
Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has insisted that the club are currently in a tough period under their manager Frank Lampard after another huge loss against Manchester City.
Frank Lampard and his side were given a glimpse of hope ahead of their match against Manchester City due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Pep Guardiola’s team.
Five first team players were missing for Pep Guardiola but Manchester City put in an impressive performance to beat Chelsea in their home ground.
The loss saw Chelsea slip down to eighth position in the table with four defeats from their last six Premier League matches and this has mounted pressure on Frank Lampard.
Speaking to the club website after the match Pulisic stated that the team know they are in a tough period and it’s an event that’s going to happen to everyone at times as the team have been in these situations before.
Pulisic who was on the pitch from start to finish noted that the team have a game next week where they need to start turning it around because they do need to start getting results quickly.
With the result against Manchester City casting more doubt on their chances of winning the league, Pulisic noted that the team will watch the game back, look at it as a team and see what they can improve on.
Though he pinpointed that It’s not going to be easy but they need to show character now.
