Why Badiashile joined Chelsea

Chelsea’s first January signing, Benoit Badiashile has opened up on why he chose to sign for the west London club.

According to Badiashile, his desire to play in the best league in the world made him consider a move to Stamford Bridge.

Badiashile who was signed to Monaco joined the Blues for €38million and the deal was announced on Thursday.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly announced the arrival of Badiashile, who is the latest highly-rated defender to roll off France’s production line.

He is expected to challenge for a first-team place and could form a long-term partnership with his Fofana, once he returns to full fitness.

Speaking for the first time as a Chelsea player, the 21-year-old told the club’s official website, “I’m very happy to be here at Chelsea.

“I’m so excited to start playing for this club. I can’t wait to see the fans and start playing in the best league in the world.”
