Former Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen has come for West Ham United’s decision to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United.

Owen made this known following West Ham’s Premier League 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.

The Blues defeated the Hammers at the London Stadium, thanks to Nicolas Jackson’s brace and a goal from Cole Palmer.

Wan-Bissaka, who arrived at West Ham in a £15m deal from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window, played against Chelsea.

According to Owen, Wan-Bissaka was not suited to West Ham under manager, Julen Lopetegui’s current tactics, stressing that the former Man Utd star is not brilliant going forward.

Owen during a statement via Premier League Productions, faulted West Ham recruitment team for signing Wan-Bissaka.

The former footballer stressed that if the club was going to ask somebody to get up wide and high and come inside and play central, Wan-Bissaka was the wrong player for them to sign.

According to Owen, that kind of technique is not Wan-Bissaka’s game as his game is plugging the gaps, and not letting anything past.

Owen noted that Wan-Bissaka is a brilliant defender, but he is not brilliant going forward.

Chelsea’s win against West Ham comes after they defeated Bournemouth in the last outing.
