Victor Osimhen’s Future: PSG Preferred, Arsenal and Chelsea at Risk of Missing Out

Victor Osimhen has reportedly expressed a preference to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer, potentially sidelining interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, though a stay at Napoli remains possible.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for Osimhen as the summer transfer window draws to a close.

Despite signing a new contract with Napoli last summer, which includes a €130 million (£110m/$145m) release clause, no club has yet been willing to meet this figure.

PSG had shown interest in Osimhen last year, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker would favor a move to the French champions if a new offer is presented.

Arsenal continues to monitor Osimhen’s situation closely, while Chelsea has only proposed a loan deal—a proposal Napoli has rejected outright.

While PSG may submit a bid this week, it is likely to be below Napoli’s minimum expectation of €100 million (£85m/$112m), leaving open the possibility that Osimhen may remain with the Serie A club.

Osimhen’s preference for PSG is influenced by the presence of Luis Campos, who played a crucial role in bringing him to Lille in 2019.

Campos, now at PSG, is seen by Osimhen as a mentor figure, which may be driving his interest in the move.

As negotiations unfold, Napoli will focus on their upcoming Serie A match against Bologna on Sunday, following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona in their season opener.

The outcome of Osimhen’s transfer saga remains uncertain, with the possibility of staying in Italy still on the table.
