Chelsea are still in the race to sign Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen from Italian Serie A side Napoli this summer.

However, the Blues have given a condition for them to make a move for the Napoli striker whose released clause is considered too expensive.

The Blues in a recent report via The Telegraph revealed they are keen on signing Osimhen but will only push ahead with a loan move.

However, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis want possible suitors to pay Osimhen’s €130m (£110.8m) release clause before agreeing to let the striker leave.

So far both Chelsea and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are unwilling to go that high for the Nigerian forward.

Recall that the Blues were close to signing forward Samu Omorodion after agreeing a €40m (£34.5m) deal with Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

But the transfer has fallen through due to a disagreement over personal terms.

This has made Chelsea return to the table for Osimhen as they would sign him only if Napoli are willing to agree to an initial loan deal.

However, a loan bid might not work out as Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has already hit back at suggestions that the striker could leave Napoli in a cut-price deal.
